Off to a Great Start!

Our first two days went swimmingly. The children colored with crayons
and painted with watercolors to decorate their placemats. We will use
them every day for the rest of the school year.

We sang The Good Morning Song while practicing learning each other’s
names. We hopped like bunnies, stomped like elephants, wiggled like
worms, and sat down to read. We read Spot Goes To School, You Are My
Wonders, and Chicka, Chicka, 1,2,3. We counted to 100! The next day we
read Chicka, Chicka Boom Boom and sang the
A,B,C’s.

We sang a name song using a chime and everybody had a turn to play a tiny tune.

In the yard, children took turns swinging, while others were digging
in the sandbox. A few people found roly-polies, and we spent some time
looking for millipedes, but never found one. We all did a bit of
running back and forth. Some friends played Ring Around the Rosie, and
they all fell down.

We are practicing walking up and down the stairs holding onto the
rail, quite a feat, and fun to watch!

Thanks for the immaculately clean classroom!! We appreciate the new
paint job, new sand and wood chips, new shelves, hard copies of lists,
and current files.

We’re off to a great start!

See you bright and early Monday,
Therese
