Our Educational Philosophy
At Old First Nursery School, we believe children learn best when they are actively engaged with materials, ideas, and people, and that authentic growth requires diverse and nurturing opportunities for ongoing social, emotional, and cognitive development. We are a play-based nursery school where our teachers follow The Bank Street Model, inviting children to be curious and encouraging learning through discovery and thoughtful engagement.
Learning and growing at ofns
Old First Nursery School has one mixed-aged 3s and 4s classroom of 16 students. The children all play and learn together in one class, led by one head teacher and one assistant teacher.

Rooted in The Bank Street Model, students engage in a fun and creative interdisciplinary curriculum. Students experience a stimulating program that utilizes all of the senses, giving them the opportunity to see, hear, feel, taste and touch.

OFNS’s one class of 16 students enjoys access to over 2,000 square feet of classroom and dedicated indoor play space along with an outdoor garden and playground, providing ample room for children to learn, build, explore and grow together.
