Dear Parents,
On Monday we played with our tetherball in the yard. Some children laughed boisterously while playing. It is serious high-action hand-eye coordination.
On Tuesday we played Duck, Duck, Goose. Everyone cheered each other on as we ran around and around the circle. We had a quick game so that we could get outside to a beautiful spring day.
During circle on Tuesday we looked at a picture of the orbit pattern for Artemis ll, NASA’s moon rocket set to launch today. We looked at pictures of the four astronauts and read a little about them: the first black person, the first woman, and the first Canadian, to circle the moon, are in the crew. We looked at a picture of the rocket and saw the tiny part where the astronauts would live for ten days. Someone asked, “How do they build a rocket ship?” A friend answered, “They use metal.” Another pondered a puzzling question, “How do they go to the moon when it is moving?” Artemis II is set to launch today at 6:24 pm. They are actually going to the Dark Side of the Moon.
In the yard we have been observing our trees’ buds and blossoms. We saw our first bumblebee and several other insects. Someone said the insects that he knows are mosquitoes and dragonflies. We took our spring tree picture.
We ended our short week playing Mr. Wolf, Mr. Wolf. All the wolves were very hungry.
